Two show-stealer heroines
Let's start with the stars of the month. I'll be honest: I'm particularly proud of these two.
The first one, you’ve met in this month's release, but she is not the same any more: Skathi Blood-Scythe, the Executioner, our Sorceress, has been reborn as a Champion wielding a heavy weapon, with a faithful raven of ill omen at her side.
If your army of unchained barbarians was missing a little extra savagery, she's here to take care of that!
The second Valka Storm-Singer takes us back a few years. Some of you will remember a heroine who was a huge success when she first came out, as part of one of our Celtic releases, a release that is still among the most popular we've ever made. She was a Shaman sharing a quiet moment with her wolf spirit.
We wanted to bring that little scene into the world of the Blood Tribes. So the Shaman has grown darker and more aggressive. And the wolf… is now an enormous demon.
The scene keeps all of its poetry, but it gains a new layer of contrast: what you're looking at is a moment of tenderness between two beings who only know how to speak through violence. The magical effect from which the demon's head emerges has been entirely redesigned and resculpted, for an even more elegant result.
I find this piece absolutely beautiful. On its own, we could say it is the first diorama of the release…
Reinforcements and then some!
Of course, your armies need troops. Naturally, the units from this month's release all get their reinforcements.
Then, to go further, we went back to the original Blood Tribes release. The Doom Hounds, those bloodthirsty supernatural hounds, now number ten. That should be enough to make any battle line think twice.
The Oriniax from that same release are back too, and this time they're ridden by archers, giving you a whole new cavalry variant for your forces.
We also dug out our Celtic warrior troops and gave them a full makeover, turning them into the Blood-Skorn Huntresses, a band of Blood Tribes scouts.
And finally, we built something entirely from scratch: a brand-new unit of shock warriors, the Furiann Juggernauts. An elite troop armed with large axes, to give your close-combat forces even more bite.
Violence in two keys
As always, you also get two very cool dioramas, both capturing the brutality and the relentless nature of the Blood Tribes.
The first, The Judgment of the Pack, is genuinely dramatic: Queen Morrakha stands with her Bloodhounds as they savage an unfortunate female 0rc.
The second plays out a similar scene, but in a much lighter tone: a band of little Goblins squaring up to a Gorekin Yeti. I'll let you guess how that will end...
More than we promised
That's what this month's Sovereign has in store for you. And once again, you're getting more than we originally promised: three of this month's units aren't simple extensions of existing troops, but near-complete reinventions.
Why? Because every single time, we try to bring you what feels most exciting, and what we believe is best for your games.
Already looking ahead
Behind the scenes, we're already working furiously on the coming months. The Christmas release is well under way already!
And for Halloween… we have something special. Something you've been asking us for a very long time. If you’re a Raging Heroes’ fan, you might already have a guess.
